Am I the first to write up a sweet memory that happened at the Knavesmire on the occasion, if my memory serves me right, of Kayfi's second win.
As usual I was looking after young Ross, a keen Aramis supporter who always wore Kayfi's Green and White Racing Colours to the meetings. A young man was passing and he did a double take. 'But those are Kayf Aramis colours,' he said. 'Yes, that's right.'
'Is he in with a chance?'
'That's why we are here, but don't bet your shirt on it.'
The young man sped off. There was a huge roar and as the crowd surged to collect their winnings I saw this good-looking young man fighting his way through to come and say a big 'thank you' with a beaming smile.
