Kayfaramisracing fans will remember that Kayf Aramis was a popular runner at this Northern track in his flat racing days. He went there seven times but a 1st always just eluded him. In this particular race in 2006 he was leading 3 furlongs out until just inside the last furlong when he was passed by Villago. The consolation was that he beat one of his old rivals, Great As Gold, by 1½ lengths.
